Video footage from Events
So far only one bit of footage. More may follow from time to time.
This is a tithe court case, Cromwell vs. Hornsey 1638. The said Hornsey claimed not to need to pay tithe in the parish of Ely because he was resident in the neighbouring parish. However it was alleged that his sheep had grazed on the common land of Ely and that Hornsey was in fact resident in Ely.
Shot at Oliver Cromwell's house in Ely on 20 August 2005. The video is six
minutes and 25 seconds long and is a 15Mb download, so probably best watched
from broadband, definitely not for trying on dial-up! It is entirely office
safe, although it does need the sound turned on for the dialogue of the tithe court.
